Targets

Specify your Targets

The Targets command in Amnesiac offers users the ability to define and manage target systems.

This feature is particularly valuable in scenarios where users want to focus their operations on specific systems, minimizing unnecessary network scans. It is advisable to set your target systems when utilizing the Scan Network for Listening Targets option.

The Targets command on its own is used to toggle the display of user-defined targets. This feature allows users to quickly view or hide their custom-defined targets.

Users can define their target systems by using the Targets command followed by the absolute path to a file containing target system names (one per line), or a comma-separated string of target system FQDNs (Fully Qualified Domain Names) enclosed in double quotes. This allows users to specify their targets based on their requirements or scope.

After defining user-specific targets, users can use the Targets Check command. This command performs a port scan on the user-defined target systems to check which ones are alive and reachable. Any targets that are not responsive are removed from the list, ensuring that users are working with up-to-date and valid targets.

If users wish to clear their custom-defined targets and revert to scanning all systems in the domain, they can use the Targets Clear command. This sets Amnesiac to target all systems in the domain.
